Brief description of fishery:
Fishing available on this stretch all year round subject to fishing seasons.
The water available is right bank extending from the bridge for about 1106yd. 560yd to the weir and 546yd above the weir. Above the weir can be very deep, up to 16 feet and slow moving. Below the weir the depths vary from 2 to 6 feet deep. Large barbel and carp have been caught at this venue.
Main species: Barbel, chub, roach, perch, dace, pike, bream and eel. Bream and larger perch are more predominant above the weir with an occasional carp in evidence.
Accessibility:
Fair.
Some steep banks down to the river.
Track up to the weir can be hazardous in winter.
Key Points:
Salmon anglers must be in possession of a valid EA salmon licence and consult local EA byelaws on salmon fishing on the river Severn.
Deep water above the weir.
Parking at the top of the track and at the bottom of the drive.
Be careful leaving the drive onto the A4133.
Power lines cross the river halfway up the lock keeper’s island.

Access & Parking
Access to the car park is directly at the top of the drive which runs adjacent to the bridge bridle path. Exercise extreme caution when leaving the track onto the A4133. OS reference for access point is SO 824633.
Parking allowed by the café when not in use.
