42 – River Severn – Hawkbatch

Brief description of fishery:

Consisting of three meadows 704yds right bank. The downstream meadow is much smaller. A varied mixture of shallows and deeps. Good all round middle Severn fishery.
Main species: Barbel, chub, roach, pike, perch, dace, eel, occasional trout and salmon.
Accessibility good.
Key points: Signing in at the farm before commencement of fishing is a required agreement with the owner. There is a parking fee (which is given to charity). Be aware that livestock can be present where cars are parked. The track down through the forest can be rough after heavy rain. The river bed is generally sandstone and can be hard on terminal tackle.

Access & Parking

Car parking available at the river bank only after signing in and on payment of fee at Hawkbatch Farm. All members are requested to report to the Farm before commencement of fishing. Look for the cottage on the right hand side of the B4194, just over 2 miles from Bewdley Town. OS reference for access point is SO764774. OS reference for the Farm is SO774781. It is a 1268yd drive through the forest down to the farm house. There can be livestock present in the fields where parking is allowed
